Industrial engineer and professor of architecture and computer science at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC). Her field of research is in robotic systems, assistance and surgical applications. She directs the Robotics and Vision Group at the Centre for Research in Biomedical Engineering (CREB-UPC). She is currently chair of the IEEE-EMBS Biorobotics Committee and of the Science and Technology Section of the Institute for Catalan Studies.

He is advisor to the Robotics and Vision Group at the CREB-UPC. From 1991 to 2006 he was a visiting professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is a member of the Institute for Catalan Studies and the Royal Academy of Sciences and Arts of Barcelona. His current research focuses on robotic surgery.

Associate researcher at the Institute of Biomedical Engineering of Catalonia from 2006 to 2016, where he focused his research mainly on surgical robotics and artificial vision. He is currently part of the Group at the CREB-UPC.

Since 2000, he has been directly involved in the creation of several companies in the field of biomedicine. He is currently president of the CataloniaBioHT business association and a faculty member of Biocat's program to accelerate healthcare entrepreneurship in Barcelona.

He has a background of over 25 years of management experience in international environments working on B2B projects, leading companies' growth and team transformation, combined with over 15 years mentoring start-ups and inspiring entrepreneurs.

From 2007 to 2013, he worked on several research projects within the Department of Systems Engineering, Automation and Industrial Computing (ESAII) of the UPC. His research was focused on computer vision and surgical robotics applied to laparoscopic surgery.
Chemical Engineering Degree from the University of Barcelona (UB). She has over 14 years of quality management, quality assurance and regulatory affairs experience in the medical device industry, managing all aspects of regulatory compliance in Europe and USA.
Library and Information Science Degree from the University of Barcelona (UB). She has over 25 years of administrative experience. For the last 14 years she has worked for R&D companies in the biomedical field under GMP and GLP rules. She joined the Rob Surgical team in 2014.

Since 2003 his professional career has focused on medical robotics. Since 2017 he has been working in product development at Rob Surgical, as well as lecturing part-time at the UPC.
MSc in Electronics from the UPC. For the last 10 years he has been involved in several R&D projects as a hardware engineer. His expertise focuses on motor controllers and biotechnology. He has in-depth knowledge of electronics design, EMC, embedded systems, highly-integrated and high-density designs, and thermal and power management.
