Her field of research is in robotic systems, assistance and surgical applications. She directs the Robotics and Vision Group at the Centre for Research in Biomedical Engineering (CREB-UPC). She is currently chair of the IEEE-EMBS Biorobotics Committee and of the Science and Technology Section of the Institute for Catalan Studies.

She has been working in the medical devices industry since 2000 and has been promoted to various positions directly involved in designing, developing and industrialising of class III medical devices.

He is advisor to the Robotics and Vision Group at the CREB-UPC. From 1991 to 2006 he was a visiting professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is a member of the Institute for Catalan Studies and the Royal Academy of Sciences and Arts of Barcelona. His current research focuses on robotic surgery.
